A passionate recording artist and performer for over 15 years, Devin has toured and played with instrumental acts and world music bands like the Celtic beat group “Pangur Ban”, and the flamenco/gypsy-jazz fusion “James Cohen Caravan”. Some top venues performed include the Ottawa Jazz, Blues and folk festivals, the Montreal Jazz festival, the B.C. Festival of the arts, the Tulip Festival, the Acoustic Waves series and countless others. He had the great honor to perform with such celebrated performers as “Murray McLauchlan”, Sue Foley, the “Wailin’ Jenneys”, “Bill Frissell” and “Buffy Sainte-Marie.”
Devin launched his solo career with the debut album “Stretching Glass” which., despite it’s limited release, has had tremendous appeal and continues to generate a groundswell of enthusiastic fans. His unique style of acoustic folk/groove, fingerstyle flamenco-inspired guitar and heartfelt vocals has earned him a place in the Ottawa singer-songwriter scene. He’s also a favored performer at local summer festivals such as Kaleidoscope and Music in the Pines, and has recently showcased at the 2009 OCFF conference in Ottawa.
His new 5-track EP “Stand-in for the Victory” represents a huge step forward artistically and sets the stage for his 2010 summer tour and the launch of his next full length CD planned for fall 2010.
